The Suicide Squad Directed by James Gunn

Where do I begin, this movie had me hyped and not only as it was another DC Movie to see but also as it had Director James Gunn Directing, you may know him from Guardians of the Galaxy, and from the beginning opening it was a blast.

From the start this movie had action, comedy and also many surprises to say the least and we had lots of characters to explore including Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and Rick Flag but many new ones too like King Shark, Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2 and my favourite Polka Dot Man, who yes actually shoots polka dots out of his hands.

The story was great and the effects were spot on and you could tell it was a big budget movie and very James Gunn, so much better than I anticipated and also a lot more blood and gore than I could of imagined in a DC movie, this wasn’t a bad thing and made me laugh and also cringe too, in a good way and I left wanting more.

The comedy was on point at the right times and there were a few little Easter eggs plotted throughout and there was some great chemistry with a lot of the cast including Peacemaker (who has his own series coming in 2022) interacting with BloodSport plus others too, moments that made me happy as a DC Fan.

King Shark has been a favourite among the internet community and he was great, Sylvester Stallone voices him and did a super job too, he was fun and I actually loved him.

Harley Quinn has a fantastic scene or two later in the movie and really shows off her abilities and the direction on these scenes was fantastic to see, finally a comic book style Harley in live action and was brilliant, wait until you see it.

The other characters I will say don’t get to attached to as they have hinted from the beginning of making the movie, they don’t all make it to the end, who lives and who does not, well you will just have to go see it to find out!!

The big bad is also very cool too see on the big screen.

Overall a very enjoyable movie with lots of fun, action and gore with great characters with fantastic chemistry, I will say James Gunn got these castings right on point and they were a fantastic Suicide Squad, go see it!!

Stay to the very end too after the credits roll as a surprise clip awaits you all.

Thank you to Warner Bros UK
